Welcome to The Kenya Fund

In September of 2010 an intrepid band of volunteers traveled from the U.S. to Kenya on a mission trip.  There the team painted a school in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, visited an orphanage in the Tumani region of the city and spent a couple of days serving blind children in the town of Kitui.  Their hearts were moved by the children they met and in response to the overwhelming need they established The Kenya Fund.  Administered by Group Cares based in Loveland, Colorado, the fund provides for the care of children at Jehovah Jireh Orphanage in Nairobi and St. Luke's Home for Blind Children in Kitui.  Food, Medicines and pay for staff are some of the needs met by The Kenya Fund.

This blog has been established for our Nairobi based fund manager, Reverend Captain Daniel Mulwa, to post regular reports on the progress of the children.  Here, too, he can share immediate needs you might like to contribute toward.  Reverend Mulwa is a dedicated Christian servant with a heart for the children of Kenya and all of East Africa.  If you are a U.S. citizen your contributions are fully tax deductible as Group Cares is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit.  We hope that you'll consider a generous donation to help children in need in Kenya.  Return here often to see how The Kenya Fund is changing the lives of children.

If you'd like to visit Jehovah Jireh Orphanage and St. Luke's Home, consider joining our upcoming medical/construction mission trip from August 27 to September 5 this year.  Click here for all the details on how you can register for this trip.  There are only a couple of spots still available.
